In this video series I show you the application a black lacquer paint on a 1963 split window Corvette coupe. This application is for a vehicle that is going to be judged by the NCRS or other organizations. It is applied in a manor that duplicates the style and appearance of how the car would have looked from the factory. Part 1 cover the prep and spraying of the sealer primer. Part 2 covers applying the lacquer paint. Jonesy’s Auto Club videos are for reference and entertainment only and should not be taken as a direct step by step guides. This is one of my favourite cars in the game…… The C2 Chevrolet Corvette Z06, its certainly the best handling of the Old American Muscle cars in the game too……. This car was completely stock for this lap other than R5 Tyres & a Differential Adjustment……. The fastest time I could get was 1’26.253………..

Onboard, then offboard at 7:00. This clip is like a tribute to my late father (I miss you, Dad), who had a red 1965 Corvette ever since I was very young (and my Mom also had the pleasure of driving it). He also had traveled around the world already as a gymnast… including to Germany. The closest car GT5 has is the 1963 Vette, and you know me I always prefer the racing version. The lighting effects are really fun to play with – and I love night racing, but you wouldn’t see much – so I made this one just in the evening around sunset. Makes me feel like the track is about to close and I’m just getting one more lap in… This was done with a DF GT wheel and G25 pedals, manual transmission, no driver aids (ABS 1). The setup is pretty good but turns in a little more eagerly than I intend sometimes, though it handles the kerbs well. The audio suffers a bit from the GT5 2.03 update (balance is off), I recommend listening mostly to the right speaker. Enjoy.

The original 1963-vintage Corvette Grand Sports were thoroughbred racecars, the most recent of which failed to sell on the auction block when its reserve was not met with a bid of .9 million. Even when the Grand Sport label was applied to a production Corvette in 1996, only 1000 examples with specific VINs were made.
