Chevrolet celebrated its centennial year at the 2011 Woodward Dream Cruise – the world’s largest automotive event which attracts an estimated 1.5 million fans and over 40000 cars – ranging from muscle cars, street rods, custom, collector, classic and special interest vehicles. Automotive racing icons Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson waved the opening flags to start the celebratory Chevrolet Centennial Parade. Highlights of the Historic Chevrolet Centennial Parade Car buffs young and old lined Woodward Avenue for the historic Chevrolet Centennial Parade. Among the array of vehicles “cruising” Woodward Avenue included: the 1967 Camaro Pace Car, the 1969 Camaro Pace Car, 50 Chevrolet Volts, the Centennial Corvette, the ZL 1, the 45th Anniversary Camaro CVT, the 1978 Corvette Indy, and GM Heritage Center Vehicles including the 1955 Bel Air, the 1963 Corvette, and the 1970 Chevelle SWS.
